Gratitude impels me to send this testimony, with the hope that it will bring comfort to others, thought space permits me to mention but a few of the many blessings that the study and application of Christian Science have brought into my life.
From childhood I had a great desire to know more of the creator. I could not accept the teaching of the religious creeds which circumstances placed me in touch with, nor anything I had ever read on this subject. I clung to the beautiful definition of God as given by John, and was satisfied that Love could never cause sickness, or sin, or any evil; but that was as far as I could go; for that these things seemed to exist, puzzled me. Sickness and fear had nearly destroyed me when, through God's tender mercy and loving-kindness, I heard of Christian Science and went to a practitioner, who explained its teachings to me. From then on my reformation began. With joy I received the sweet story, and never doubted that it was the same divine Science which Jesus said would lead us into all Truth. I have had many demonstrations of healing through my own understanding of the Christ, Truth.
Last summer, while on a camping trip, I dropped some eggs into a pan half full of boiling grease. Some of the white of the egg formed into a ball and burst, throwing the grease into my eyes and over my hand. Some of the party ran to me, very much excited, but I assured them I was all right; and with humble thanks I can truthfully say there remained not even a sign of redness.
