One Saturday while I was playing golf, a box of so-called safety matches ignited in my hand and stuck in the palm. Refusing the great temptation to look at the result of the accident, I continued my game, all the time declaring what little of the truth I possessed. The game being finished, I washed the hand; but still did not look at it. After luncheon I played again, and enjoyed the afternoon. Without any material the or coverings whatsoever, I was able to show a perfectly healed hand the following Tuesday.
Because of this and many other demonstrations of physical healings, I desire to express my humble gratitude for the understanding of Christian Science that makes possible these manifestations of the activity of God's perfect law. We are, however, most grateful for the real understanding of Love that is being unfolded in our daily work,—the Love that reaches down when we stumble and falter; that takes away the scar of sin's attempt to bruise; that is the coming of the Father to meet the prodigal,—a glimpse of the Love that the Way-shower knew and reflected in all his work, the Love that Christian Science reveals.— Germantown, Philadelphia, Pa.
