When Christian Science came to me, I was greatly in need of the healing power of Truth. Since childhood I had suffered with a weak back, nervous trouble, and mental depression, as the result of spinal meningitis. Competent physicians had given treatments of different kinds, but no permanent relief had been obtained.
The shock caused by the passing on of both of my parents within six months proved to be the extremity which was God's opportunity. When the doctor advised a change of climate, I decided to try Christian Science. This method of healing appealed to me. I did not believe that our heavenly Father sends disease and sickness, although I had been a member of a so-called orthodox church and engaged in its activities for several years. Through the efficacy of Christian Science treatment, the physical ailments, which had held me in bondage so long, disappeared. Since that time many healings have been experienced, lumbago, indigestion, influenza, ptomaine poisoning, and other ills having been overcome. A tendency to frequent colds and sick headaches has also been overcome. I rejoice in freedom from these bodily ills, as well as for the mental and spiritual regeneration and peace and harmony in the home.
A better understanding of God and the Bible has been gained through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Words are inadequate to express my deep sense of gratitude to God, to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to the practitioner who gave me such patient, loving help and guidance.— Indianapolis, Ind.
