INSPIRATION

From the May 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Whatever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love—be it song, sermon, or Science—blesses the human family with crumbs of comfort from Christ's table, feeding the hungry and giving living waters to the thirsty."—"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 234).

To-day, I heard a robin's call,—
A carol sweet, a merry lay,
That echoed in my heart all day,
And sent me singing on my way,
With thanks to God, who giveth all.

At eve, I saw a picture fair,—
Earth carpeted in softest green,
A deep blue sky, starlit, serene,
A calm, refreshing, peaceful scene;
And I rejoiced,—for Love was there!

Whate'er inspires, a feast may be
That feeds with joy, uplifting, pure,—
Song, scene, or word of Truth so sure,
All make us feel Thy love secure,
And serve to turn our praise to Thee.
