TRUTH'S MESSENGER

From the May 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It shot across the waiting void
Of winter's cheerless night,
The radiance of a star-born thought,
A flash of living light.

One watcher lone descried its gleam
With eager, searching eyes;
One heart was ready to receive
The message from the skies.

With hands outstretched her joy to share,
She found men deaf and blind;
Her consecrated pen she dipped
In love for all mankind.

And lo! the words she humbly wrote
Restore the blind to sight.
Sad, sick, and sin-bound souls are freed,
Because she saw the light.
