For many years I had been ill. I had undergone three serious operations. Several diseases and, finally, stomach trouble, appeared; I was unable to digest my food, and suffered pain after each meal. I was a source of constant anxiety to myself and others.
A number of friends had told me about Christian Science, but I was slow in accepting it. Finally I began reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and became so eager to know the truth that I lost thought of self. One by one the fetters began to fall; and I realized, as I gained an understanding of God and man's relationship to Him, that I was becoming free from the ills of the flesh. I grew healthy, strong, and happy.
I have had so many proofs of God's care during these years that I wish to relate some specific healings, trusting they may be helpful to others. In July, 1920, I cut my toe badly. It bled profusely, and was very sore for several days, but being busy I paid no attention to it. The evening of the fourth day I was taken with a chill; and afterwards a high fever manifested itself. I was very ill all night. My fear was great, as I realized that I was suffering from blood poisoning. I tried to help myself as we are taught in Christian Science, but could not overcome the fear. In the morning a practitioner was asked to give an absent treatment. I slept until noon, and at two o'clock had a present treatment. I dressed at four o'clock, ate dinner with the family, and that evening was entirely healed.
