From the October 1925 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Be undismayed, soon comes the morning's dawn." Thus would I cry out with grateful heart to all my dear fellow-men who are waiting, as I waited, for the hour of light, in order to know the truth.

I suffered over two years from an affection of the foot, which grew worse and appeared more and more frequently. I then asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was given me for a year with great patience and love. For that help I am very grateful. A great sense of discouragement came over me often, and error would always say to me, It is so slow! But good thoughts, such as, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart," helped me over these temptations. One day when I read in the Bible the words, "I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible," a great feeling of joy came over me, and the light began to dawn for me. More and more clearly I saw that my illness was a false condition of consciousness which had to be removed. In proportion as I learned the truth, my healing came; for which I am deeply grateful to the Almighty.

Much greater than the physical healing is the spiritual uplift. This knowledge of spiritual good, of eternal love, helps me in every circumstance, however difficult. In business, as well as at home, I have been able to overcome seeming difficulties through the knowledge of the ever-presence of divine Love.
