I am very glad to testify to the healing power of Truth, as manifested in the case of my daughter, a few years ago. Finding at the end of a week that my understanding of Christian Science was not sufficient to handle the case, we asked a dear practitioner for help. After two weeks of loving and faithful work on her part, followed by great improvement, a physician was called in order to satisfy members of the family who were not in Science. He pronounced hers a serious case of typhoid fever, and was much astonished at our lack of fear, and the great risk that, in his opinion, we were running in doing without his daily attendance and medicine. He kindly tried to save us from the effects of our seeming imprudence by explaining the nature and action of the disease, and charged me on no account to allow my daughter to sit up under two more weeks, as very serious results might follow! In spite of what was said, no medicine was given; and the mortal laws he laid down were also promptly broken by the power of Truth. In one week my daughter sat up with no ill effects, and three days later she was dressed and about the house. We were both very grateful for this beautiful manifestation of the truth, which has since been followed by many others; and I am earnestly seeking and finding my rightful heritage: "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." —(Mrs.) Mary L.
