I wish to express my gratitude to God, and to the faithful and loving practitioner, for what Christian Science has done for me, and will do for all who accept and understand its teachings about God. For six years I suffered from a serious ulcerated condition of the stomach; also from bowel trouble. My condition grew steadily worse, in spite of the fact that I was under the care of the best doctors and specialists in the Middle West. None of the treatments gave me anything but temporary relief.
We then decided to go farther west, hoping change of scene and climate would prove of benefit. Here I continued with various treatments, diets of specialists, osteopathy, also a so-called milk cure, until I was advised that surgery was necessary. An operation was performed. I improved slightly for a while, but after six months was in a more serious condition than before. During this time diets and medicines were continued, also various X-ray pictures made. The surgeon, while expressing doubt as to the outcome, operated a second time. This last experience was most painful and serious, and I came home from the hospital feeling that the medical profession had nothing further to offer me.
It was at this time that my wife met an old school friend, and to her also I feel I owe a debt of gratitude for urging me to try Christian Science. Not knowing anything about the subject, I felt that it could be of no help in my case; but I was ready to try anything that promised relief. I went to a Christian Science practitioner and began treatment. With her loving help I was benefited at once, and in a very few treatments was completely healed.
