It has been my desire for a long time to tell of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science in the course of years.
I was sick for a long time, and the physician under whose treatment I was did not give me any hope that I should recover. In this dark time I met an acquaintance who I knew had formerly always been ill too, but now seemed so well. I asked him to tell me what had helped him. He invited me to visit him in his home, and joyously told me about God's love, declaring that God is an endless source of strength. At first I could not quite understand his happy explanations. But after visiting him several times I learned that he was an adherent of Christian Science. I learned that God is our only helper. As thoughts of sickness left me, they gave place to a joyous hope, which was gradually realized.
At this time I witnessed a happy experience of my son, who was at that time eight years old. In our community there were many children sick with fever. Fear crept into our home. I went to the above-mentioned Christian Scientist, and he consented to help us. When I reached home again the child was sleeping peacefully. During the night he awoke and came into my bed, and I realized that he was perfectly free. This was a wonderful proof of the protecting power of God. We were dwelling "in the secret place of the most High," and "the shadow of the Almighty" protected us.
