I came to Christian Science for physical healing, and it has met my every need. My first proof of its healing power was on board a steamer crossing the Atlantic Ocean. During a terrific storm, when I was lying in my deck chair too ill to care what became of me, a dear Christian Scientist allayed my fear; and although I did not then realize it, I was healed of seasickness. Five years later I had become a semi-invalid, and, failing to get relief through medical skill I was ready to seek a religion that teaches the Christ-cure. A kind friend lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and while I was reading and studying its inspired pages my eyesight became normal. I was healed of rheumatism; an enlargement of the thyroid gland was reduced; acute indigestion from which I had suffered since childhood was overcome; and all sense of fatigue and shattered nerves faded away. Words fail to express my gratitude for this liberation from the bondage of disease.
In one of the darkest periods of my life, when to human sense I was left entirely alone, through the study of Science and Health in connection with the Bible there came a realization of the ever present God and Father; and this revelation upheld and guided me through many seemingly trying experiences.
I am most grateful for class instruction, which has given me a better, deeper, and fuller understanding of Mrs. Eddy's teachings; and through this understanding I am striving to make my life an expression of love and consecrated service. — Palo Alto, California.
