I came into Christian Science through a wonderful healing of a very serious illness—a case of hemorrhages, the cause or origin of which baffled the physicians. After having two physicians in almost constant attendance for nearly a week, with only an increasing sense of fear on my part, I realized I must have the help the doctors seemed unable to give. In my extremity I turned to Christian Science and had my husband telephone to a practitioner. Almost immediately I was relieved in a great degree from the overwhelming sense of fear that seemed to be crushing me; and I never had a return of the hemorrhages. I was able to be up and about the house in one day; and in a week's time I traveled to the city, where I continued having treatment for two weeks. During this time I was freed from many ailments, among them chronic bowel trouble and a bronchial affliction which had been greatly aggravated during this illness.
I am most grateful for the loving help of the practitioner who aided me in taking my first steps in Christian Science. It has indeed proved to be the "pearl of great price" of which Jesus spoke in one of his parables. It has brought a wonderful sense of harmony into our home, and has been indispensable in the bringing up of our family of four children, healing them very effectively and quickly of all their childish ailments and diseases, and affording a wonderful sense of protection at all times.— San Luis Obispo, California.
