When Christian Science found me I was surely in the bottomless pit and knew no way of escape. In the first place my home was most inharmonious. I used medicine continually, and had also undergone an operation which left me still under the care of the doctors, who did all they could to get me on my feet, but entirely failed. In one night I was healed in Christian Science with the help of my sister. Before this I had not slept for a long time without taking a drug to quiet me. But my sister asked me not to take it this night. I told her I could not go to sleep without it; but I went to sleep and did not awake till morning, and when I did awake it seemed as if I were in a new world. The pains and aches and worries had all left me during the night, and mentally I was far above aches and pains.
We also had a healing in our family, some years later, of infantile paralysis. The patient had been unable to walk for some time. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and the boy walked in about thirty minutes after she had left the room. He was out in the yard the next day. This was about eight years ago, and he is in perfect health now, playing ball and all games that other boys play. He has also been healed of whooping cough, measles, and mumps.
Everything that has come up in the way of discordant conditions has been quickly overcome through Christian Science in these years of study. I am grateful beyond words for the peace and joy that have come into our home through the study of this wonderful truth. I wish to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church, also in a branch church, and for class instruction. I am grateful that Mrs. Eddy was spiritual enough to give such a blessing to mankind; for indeed Christian Science does bless all who will accept it. I hope to live each day so as to prove my gratitude for the many blessings that have been mine. "If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand."—Louisville, Kentucky.
