Since my early childhood, Christian Science has been studied in our home, and it therefore has seemed only natural for me to turn to the divine Principle of its teachings for help when a difficulty of any nature has presented itself. The fact that Christian Science had been my only religion, however, probably led me to take too much for granted, and I did not study and endeavor to apply its teachings as I should have done, until brought to a stern realization of that necessity in the last few years.
I wish to relate one of the many benefits I have received. In the early part of 1925 I was stricken with what is called influenza, which developed into pneumonia. For nearly two weeks I was confined to my bed, during which time, on two occasions, those near me thought the end had come. A Christian Science practitioner was called at the beginning of the trouble, and although he lived in a near-by city, and it seemed necessary at times to call him on the telephone three or four times a day, the demonstration was made. Not once during the experience do I recall having any doubt as to the result, even though those near me feared I might not recover.
I might go on and relate almost innumerable benefits which I have received, and which those with whom I am well acquainted have received, covering not only physical, but mental and financial difficulties, and problems in business as well. I find this truth a very present help at all times, in all problems.
