It is with great pleasure that I give as a testimony my experience in Christian Science. For more than eight years I suffered constantly from stomach trouble. I did not pay any attention to it the first few years, and by 1921 the trouble had increased to such an extent that I could no longer endure it. In 1921 the specialist who was treating me, despairing of obtaining a cure, advised me to have an X-ray examination, which I underwent twice; and still nothing was discovered. After these examinations the doctor proposed that I submit to an operation, in order that he might see the interior whence came the trouble. As the doctor himself did not know the cause of my suffering, I opposed this operation, and continued to take medicine after medicine for two years more, without securing any relief: rather the contrary, since sometimes I was unable to take any nourishment for from two to five days.
In October, 1923, when I became acquainted with Christian Science, all medicines and pills were put aside; and since then I have not resorted to them. In addition to this stomach trouble, for two and a half years I had been subject to constipation, which neither drugs nor pills had cured. It is with great joy that to-day I am able to say I am completely healed of my difficulties, which formerly seemed incurable; for after consulting seventeen physicians and herbalists, and resorting to electric massage, I no longer hoped for healing. For all these blessings I am deeply grateful to God, to Mrs Eddy for her wonderful revelation, also to the devoted practitioner who with tireless consecration and perseverance helped me to walk in the way of Truth.
I wish to speak also of my wife, who as a result of a severe illness was deprived of much sleep during a period of nine years. Notwithstanding the use of all kinds of medicine, no change came. To-day, through Christian Science, she enjoys good sleep, of which she was so long deprived. We renew our thanks in rendering praise to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the dear practitioner for this beautiful healing. —Fribourg, Switzerland.
