It is with a heart full of gratitude that I should like to express my thanks for what Christian Science has done for me, and is doing for all of us. To know that God fills all space and is a very present help at all times and in all things, has been a great comfort to me.
I took up the study of Christian Science for the healing of hernia, which was supposed to be hereditary, as several members in my family had suffered from the same ailment. I was entirely healed of this hernia in my first treatment. As we learn more about the truth we find that nothing is hereditary but the attributes of God.
Another proof of God's wonderful power was a healing that took place with my youngest son. He called my attention one day to a large swelling in his mouth on the lower gum. I was advised by one of the family to consult a dentist, and did so. After an X-ray picture had been taken I was informed that two of the lower front teeth would have to be extracted, but that I had better see a specialist. Two more X-ray photographs were taken, and I was told the same thing by the specialist; also, that the jaw bone would have to be scraped, that the boy would have to return every forty-eight hours for treatment, and that the longer I waited the more poison would get into his system. I thanked the dentist and told him I might see him the next day. As the boy had all his second teeth I did not like the thought of his losing any; so upon arriving home I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, and in fifteen minutes after absent treatment the cyst, as it was termed by the dentist, started to discharge. After three more treatments, at intervening times, the disease had entirely disappeared. To prove to everyone God's wonderful power I had another X-ray photograph taken, and it was found that the boy's mouth was in perfect condition.
