Sixteen years ago I was healed instantaneously, through an absent treatment in Christian Science, of back trouble which was so severe that I could not walk without experiencing pain. I knew that a wonderful change had come over me, and my next step was to find out how the healing had been accomplished. I began to attend all the Christian Science church services; and I found there such an uplifting atmosphere of thought that I came away joyous and with a feeling that Christian Scientists had an understanding of God that was worth while, and that I must seek until I too knew Him aright.
I read the Lesson-Sermons and the periodicals, attended lectures, and had treatment for every problem that came up to be healed, receiving much, but giving little. The way was very harmonious for a few years; then there was a testing time. A problem came to me that was not readily solved. I had to learn that it was I who was being tried and not Christian Science, which never fails when understood and rightly applied. Gratitude for every proof of its healing efficacy began to flood my consciousness, and this was followed by the unfolding of Truth, as I had never understood it before, resulting in the removing of the chaotic condition of thought.
A severe case of oak poisoning was healed in three days. I have also been healed of a manifestation similar to a sty on my eyelid, the use of eyeglasses, severe cold, and a malignant growth on the sole of my foot.
