TRAVELING

From the December 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When from the common task we seek
The surcease promised to the meek,
No need have we of travel lines
That lead through paths of earth's confines.

The wingèd thoughts of Truth and Love,
More surely than the homing dove
Doth find its way to sheltering nest,
Transport us to man's conscious rest.

No failure mocks the goal desired,
For Life alone hath strength inspired;
Each day is new because each hour
Has proved the bliss of Spirit's power.

He travels well who voyages far,
Whose journey's end reveals the star:
The Christ-idea, God enshrined,
Which lights the world and heals mankind!
