Over four years ago I turned to Christian Science for help, after being told by the doctors that my boy could not live six months without another operation, and that even then he had but one chance in a hundred. At the age of three years the doctors had said he had tuberculosis of the hip bone. He was taken to the hospital and several inches of bone were removed. This did not stop the trouble, and more bone was removed. He was in the hospital for fifteen months. He divided his time between home and the hospital for six years. On May 22, 1924, the doctors desired to remove the entire leg, but I refused to permit it.
Having seen a wonderful healing of pneumonia through Christian Science treatment, I decided to call on the practitioner who had had the case. I took my boy home against the doctor's wishes, and Christian Science treatment was begun. The boy is now enjoying the best of health and has been attending school regularly. The leg, which was much shorter than the other, has been growing and now the ball of the foot touches the ground; the entire limb has filled out, and it is the same size as the other.
It is needless to say that I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the God who is incorporeal Love and that Love's ideas never could and never did manifest sin, disease, or death. To the extent that my boy and I have learned to turn from the counterfeit belief of material man and to hold to God's perfect spiritual idea, has he been made whole.
