Before looking into Christian Science, or giving it a fair trial, but judging from what I had heard said about it by those prejudiced against it, I ridiculed it. I am now grateful for having advanced so as to be able to discern Christian Science as the truth. For six years I have earnestly studied Christian Science, daily going over the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, reading Mrs. Eddy's writings and all of the authorized periodicals of The Christian Science Publishing Society. In consequence, I have been freed from many erroneous beliefs, and have been blessed with many proofs of God's goodness and love.
Newspapers and advertisements can no longer frighten me as they once did with their tales of the power and prevalence of disease. I am no longer a slave to the smoking habit. I no longer worry for fear of not being able to make a livelihood. I no longer use material medicine in an effort to relieve physical inharmony, but rely wholly on God as the life-giving, sustaining, protecting, and guiding Principle; and all of this wonderful new change of base is entirely due to Christian Science. I hope to live the gratitude and reflect the love that will help to hasten the enlightenment of all mankind, and I am happy to know that the whole world will eventually receive this healing truth.—Vienna, Austria.
