It is with deep gratitude that I wish to glorify God for what Christian Science has done for me. For many years I suffered from trouble with my back, from falling of the intestines and other organs. I also had had several attacks of nephritis and phlebitis, and had consulted several physicians, but my condition remained unchanged. In February, 1926, I went to visit one of my daughters, who greatly encouraged me, for her husband had just been healed by Christian Science. I had not heard this marvelous discovery spoken of until then, but I had seen the proof of what it had done for my son-in-law, of whose condition we had despaired. Immediately I asked for help from a practitioner and began to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After two treatments I was completely healed, which was a wonderful surprise to all my friends who had seen me ill so long. Since then I have enjoyed excellent health.
Through the understanding acquired by the study of the Bible, Science and Health, the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, and the French Herald, I have been able to make several demonstrations. One day when I fell and hurt my face badly, I was able to overcome all sense of pain, and the scars disappeared rapidly. With joy I continually turn to my two precious books, the Bible and Science and Health, which effectually help me in every circumstance. I had always studied the Bible, but each day I understand and appreciate it more. My gratitude goes out to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for having again found for us Christ Jesus' teaching, as well as to the consecrated practitioner who has helped me in my study of Christian Science, and who, from the beginning, advised me to study the Lesson-Sermon, for in these Lessons I find treasures more precious than fine gold.
