Christian Science has proved to be such a blessing to me that I feel I should be ungrateful if I did not express my gratitude for the many benefits I have reaped through the study of the Lesson-Sermons as given in the Christian Science Quarterly.
From childhood I had been a great sufferer from blood trouble, and as the years passed this gradually became worse, finally developing into blood poisoning. About five years ago the attending physician informed me that he could do no more for me, as he had used every material remedy known in his profession, and that my condition was serious and liable to prove fatal at any time. I was bitterly opposed to Christian Science or, rather, what I thought it to be, yet remarked to him that I thought I would try it. He replied that he believed I might receive some benefit, and advised me to do so. At this time I was suffering from a large carbuncle on my neck near the right ear, besides eight others on my body.
I had reached the point where it mattered very little to me what might occur. I had no faith in Christian Science; however, I had my sister call a practitioner, who lovingly took up the work. Immediately after she began treatment all pain ceased, never to return. This was such a surprise to me that I began to read and study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as the relief experienced was proof conclusive that there was much more in Christian Science than I had ever anticipated. Many other discordant conditions gradually disappeared, and to-day I am free from all pain and in better health than ever before.
