I am so grateful for what Christian Science has done for me and mine that I should like to add my testimony, hoping it will help someone as others have so often helped me.
Over two years ago I was taken with a severe pain in my side. There being no practitioner here, and only one other Christian Scientist, who was out of town at the time, I felt helplessly alone. My husband insisted on calling a doctor. While we were waiting for him to come I opened my Bible to these words: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." The doctor came and made an examination. He said I had a fibroid tumor, and that his advice would be that I be operated upon at once. Instead, my mother was notified of my condition and came to me. I made the trip back with her to Kansas, and with her help and that of another Christian Scientist I was healed. The third day after arriving there we drove to a near-by town to a Christian Science lecture. One of the lecturer's statements was, "God could no more be separated from one of His ideas than He could cease to be." That was a wonderful help to me, and I held to that.
I am so grateful for these beautiful lectures, also to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who made it possible for us to have this truth, and the periodicals with their wonderful articles and helpful testimonies. My children do not have the blessing of attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School, but that only makes me work harder to keep this truth ever before them. A friend and I hold regular Sunday services in our home and derive a great benefit from them. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, and my desire and prayer is that I may live to be worthy of this blessed privilege.—(Mrs.) Denison, Texas.
