For seventeen years I was afflicted with a spinal condition which caused attacks of lameness that were very painful, lasting several days, confining me to bed, and leaving me very weak. I had employed three of the best medical specialists in Chicago, but they offered me nothing in the way of help. Local physicians had done their best. I had submitted to a serious operation, which availed nothing. Osteopathy had been tried with no success. There seemed to be nothing to do but to take something to quiet the pain.
At this time Christian Science was presented to me. I appealed to a practitioner, who worked faithfully. I had immediate physical relief and a spiritual uplifting which transcends any merely human experience. My life was changed. I became a strong, useful, and happy woman, doing the major part of my housework and helping in church work. This healing occurred in 1914. During the years since there have been a few— only a very few—slight attacks, and these have been quickly met by Christian Science treatment. It is now several years since there has been any suggestion of the trouble.
A badly sprained ankle was quickly healed, it being necessary for me to remain off the foot but one day. In a week the healing was complete, and I was able to use the foot normally.
