From the August 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very thankful to God, the Giver of every good and perfect gift, who constantly loves and cares for His children. I was led to take up Christian Science through a desire to know God and to be a better woman, and God's blessings for me since then have been too numerous to relate; but I should like to tell of a few healings which I have received through an understanding of Truth. I have been healed of influenza in its worst form, nervous breakdown, ulcers of the stomach, severe headaches, pains, burns, and the effects of an operation for tumor.

When I first became interested in Christian Science I was healed of three ailments I had suffered from since childhood by reading an article in a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel, the first I had ever read of this literature. My husband was healed of a broken wrist almost instantly and has had many other healings. I have been freed from faults of character. I never use material remedies, for "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

I am very grateful to God for all the love and care bestowed upon us, also to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whom we all revere for her devotion and untiring efforts to give us the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the other Christian Science literature; also to the practitioner who helped me to get so firm a foundation in this truth. I am a member of The Mother Church and also of a branch society.—
