I found Christian Science at a time when my sense of joy seemed turned to sorrow and disappointment. What glorious freedom from these bonds came with the light that Christian Science shed on the problem! I soon understood that joy comes from the only source of true giving, God, the All-in-all; and that reversing the fable that God's child can be deprived of one quality of good, replacing it with the blessed spiritual fact that joy is from God, who is ever present, the only power, the only Mind, and who loves all, brings true joy, strength, and courage in the hour of need.
My whole outlook on life has changed. I had gone along life's road with little understanding of the deep things of God and the real purpose before me. In fact, I thought I had a long road to travel before I could enter the kingdom of heaven, for I had not been a Bible student, and those who I thought were well on this road were certainly earnest students of this blessed Book. The first definite impression I had of Christian Scientists was that above everything else they were consistent students of the Bible, and "the valley of decision" was attained when Love pointed the way for me to walk with them, for this path led in the direction I wanted to go.
My gratitude ever increases for this heaven-sent organization which our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, founded to meet the needs of mankind. Needs of all kinds have been met through applying a growing understanding of this beautiful truth. Mental, physical, moral, and financial problems have received correct answers. The simplicity of Christian Science is an ever increasing joy. Little children often prove for themselves the healing power most promptly. Our young son has been healed of colds, measles, mumps, whooping cough, chicken pox, and abscessed ears. When he was bitten by a dog, he expressed no fear whatever, and the healing was instantaneous. His speedy recovery from the effects of an automobile accident has been most convincing, not only to me, but to all who knew us in the city where we lived at the time.
