I am grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me since it was first presented by a kind friend about two years ago. Hoping that others beginning their study of this wonderful religion of love may realize that great length of time is not essential to gain a demonstrable understanding of this truth, I am sending this testimony.
Before Christian Science came into my life I had never thought of religion, for I felt it was just a Sunday affair and quite unimportant, but this Science gives the true sense of religion; and as we journey Spiritward we are constantly showered with blessings. A little over two years ago I was in a run-down condition, was literally a slave to alcohol and the smoking habit, and was very depressed mentally as a result of much wrong doing and thinking. Because of this, my wife and I were on the verge of separation.
In my very early study of Christian Science these false habits were quickly overcome simply through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"—particularly what Mrs. Eddy says therein regarding "morbid cravings" (p. 406). Other false traits of character, such as envy, resentment, self-pity, worry, have been corrected to a great degree, so that now our home is one of harmony and happiness instead of discord and discontent.
