The testimonies in our periodicals and those given at the Wednesday evening meetings have so often helped and encouraged me that I, too, should like to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has meant to me during the years that I have been a student of this wonderful truth.
When in England some years ago I was spending a short time with a friend who was studying Christian Science, but although I had heard about it I was not at all interested and did not desire to know more about it. On returning to London, however, I found that I could see perfectly without the aid of glasses which I had been told I must always wear. This greatly surprised me, but I realized that this healing must have resulted from the statements of truth which had been voiced in that home, and I felt a desire to read the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I at once bought a copy at a Reading Room and read it from time to time, but it was not until two years later that I really began to study in earnest. Since then each problem which has arisen has been solved with the aid of a practitioner or through my own understanding of the truth. The healing of my eyesight has been permanent, and I have not needed my glasses since.
I am grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and also for class instruction. For the past three years it has been my privilege to serve our loved Cause as librarian in a Christian Science Reading Room, and I have proved that as we are obedient and stand firm for Principle we realize that, as our beloved Leader has said in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." I feel especially grateful for the consciousness of the ever present protecting power of God which the study of Christian Science has brought to me. It has made me understand these beautiful words which we read in the Bible: "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." For the wonderful steadfastness of our Leader in giving this truth to the world, for our Church Manual, our periodicals, and all the many activities of The Mother Church I am most grateful.— Rose Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
