I should like to take this means of expressing my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. Several years ago I suffered from rheumatism, which was extremely painful and necessitated my being absent from my work. A Christian Science practitioner was called and in a few weeks this ailment left me, and I have never had the slightest return. Recently, while having help on another difficulty, I was entirely healed of the cigarette habit which I had had for many years. It was not a case of trying to stop smoking, for it seemed that this false desire simply left me, and I no longer have the slightest inclination to smoke. Indeed, morally my whole life has been changed through this beautiful healing truth, as I formerly had about all of the bad habits to which men are prone, but all of them have left me.
I should also like to tell about an experience to which I was a witness. Two years ago my wife's mother was at the point of passing on in a local hospital, having undergone an operation for a cancer of the bowels and having been given up by the doctors. At this point members of the family were prevailed upon to try Christian Science, and a practitioner was called. The healing was accomplished, and I am grateful to say that she is alive and well today. I wish to add that prior to this demonstration she knew nothing whatever about Christian Science, showing that it is not necessary to have an understanding of it in order to be healed by it.
In closing I wish to express my gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy for establishing the Christian Science movement. I am also grateful for the lectures, which uplift and inspire.—Lakewood, Ohio.
