In sincere gratitude I wish to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. About five years ago I was taken ill while at work, and a doctor told me that I had a serious heart trouble. He said that I must go to bed and rest, and he prescribed various medicines. After a week in bed I was no better and the outlook seemed hopeless, as the doctor was not able to do anything for me and suggested a consultation with another doctor. Previous to this I had become interested in Christian Science through my sister, who while in America had had an instantaneous healing of mastoiditis and had told my wife and me about her wonderful experience. While my sister was visiting us, we accompanied her to a service at a Christian Science church. Afterwards I started to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I was so much impressed that I decided, as medicine and rest did me no good, to trust to Christian Science entirely. I stopped taking medicine, and studied the textbook and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. I returned to work, and I am very grateful to say that since then I have never had a day's illness or needed medicine of any kind.
About three years ago I had to go before a doctor in connection with a life insurance policy. After examining me, the doctor said that everything was normal. I told him that three years before another doctor had said that I had a certain heart disease, but he said that his examination did not show any heart trouble. This was conclusive proof to me of the healing power of Christian Science through the study of the textbook. I am also very grateful for loving help from a practitioner.
