"My heart is singing: I have found the way." These words in one of the hymns from our beautiful revised Hymnal, express my thought, for I have indeed found the way of true happiness and peace. When Christian Science came into our home it found us burdened with sickness and sorrow. My mother was fast becoming an invalid with heart trouble; she was also laid up most of each winter with bronchitis. A copy of the Christian Science textbook was lent to her, and after she had been reading a few hours she felt that it was the truth. From that time she began to improve. Heart attacks, weakness, and bronchitis diminished, and soon ceased altogether. Today she is leading an active, useful life.
When I saw the gradual change in my mother I started to study in earnest, and I can never be too grateful to God that I did so, for I have received abundant proofs of God's goodness. I was healed of blood disorder, which seemed to cause many discordant conditions. I learned in Christian Science that God, not blood, is my life, and that He gives man the glorious gift of perfect health. I received great comfort and help when my son was born; many material beliefs were overcome, and I learned to stand more firmly in Truth.
I should also like to give thanks for the "dark times," when it did not seem easy to declare the truth, for these times have proved to be the "growing times," and have drawn me closer to the Bible and its precious promises, teaching me that joy is spiritual and ever present. I feel, on writing this testimony, that not half has been told of the joy, health, peace, and love that have come to our home through this wonderful religion, Christian Science.—Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.
