In the fall of 1924 divine Love led me to Christian Science. I had been suffering for about fourteen years from articular rheumatism and debility. The many doctors I had consulted and the various courses of treatment to which I had resorted had not helped me. In this unhappy condition I felt that God's help alone could free me; I approached Him with the heartfelt desire: "I will not let thee go, except thou bless me." Our dear Father-Mother God heard my prayer!
A friend who was acquainted with Christian Science brought me a Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). Through reading it my faith was strengthened, my love for my Saviour became deeper, and my hope for health more joyous. I bought the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and was happy to be able to study it absorbedly. Then I asked a practitioner to help me, which she lovingly did until, after a long struggle, I gained light and understanding so that I was able to go on alone through diligent reading of the textbook. In a short time the pain disappeared; I could walk again and do my housework as well as ever. Joy and contentment returned to my home, for all the dear members of my family felt God's blessing. I am grateful to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and our revered Leader Mary Baker Eddy, who has so clearly interpreted God's promises. I am also grateful that I belong to a recognized Christian Science Society and may work in it. I shall endeavor to live according to the standard of Christian Science, to keep God's Word, to demonstrate love, and to walk humbly before my God.— Weiss-stein, Germany.
