Christian Science came into my life some ten years ago. Since then it has been a very precious companion, guide, and protector. Physically and mentally it has been immeasurably helpful. It has enabled me not only to recognize but to demonstrate my spiritual identity.
By fully realizing that the real man is "the spiritual image and likeness of God," as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 591), I have gained an entirely new concept, both inspiring and achievable, as to who I am, and why I am here, with most gratifying results. By knowing that as God's perfect and indispensable expression I can see without impairment or interruption, I was loosed from a belief in partial blindness. By steadfastly refusing to concede false power to foods, I have been able to partake of any dish set before me without fear or harmful aftereffects. Since I have gained an understanding that true employment is to be about my Father's business, the weekly pay envelope is no longer regarded as my only source of supply and the sole object of labor. By deciding to lean absolutely upon the one Physician, I was rewarded with a complete healing of what appeared to be appendicitis. As a result of my remembering that spiritual faculties are incapable of fatigue or limitation, a reservoir of mental endurance and productive capacity has been opened to me many times. These are but a few of the numerous proofs vouchsafed to me that Christian Science is the Comforter abiding with us forever.
Words alone are not sufficient to convey my gratitude for the fundamentals unfolded so constantly in the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly; for The Mother Church and its widespread branches, which offer opportunities to participate in the work; for the enlarged Publishing House with its facilities for disseminating good tidings about the healing truth; for the daily, weekly, and monthly publications, which enrich all, in addition to the spiritual sustenance afforded by the Christian Science textbook and its illumination of the Scriptures; for the Board of Lectureship, through which the truth may be presented orally to the world.
