I wish to give this testimony in order to show my deep gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me.
From childhood I was under the mortal law of sickness, for many years being unable to do my work, as I was subject to severe attacks of asthma. The resources of the medical profession had been practically exhausted, and I was worse rather than better. Even change of climate failed to be of any permanent benefit.
In the year 1917 I was traveling with my husband and became so much worse that I was unable to make the trip home alone. Finally, while we were boarding with a private family in a small city, it became necessary for me to call a physician in an attempt to get relief from one of these asthmatic attacks. The doctor, while doing all he could for me, told me plainly that I could not be cured. In this hour of discouragement, however, divine Love opened the way for me. After the doctor had gone, the lady with whom we were staying told me of Christian Science and of what it had done for them. Her husband had been healed many years before of what had been pronounced to be an incurable disease, and she assured me that I, too, could be healed. As both my husband and I were fully convinced that there was no material help for me, I asked for a practitioner and began having treatments.
