In gratitude to our Father-Mother, God, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the blessings received through the application of the truth as revealed in Christian Science, I submit this testimony.
I did not become interested in Christian Science through a desire for physical healing. However, I did receive a healing shortly after reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
I had been a member of a church since childhood, but had become dissatisfied with it and had given up attending it, or any other church, except on rare occasions, in over seven years. A friend, with whom I had recently become acquainted, told me that she attended the Christian Science church, and asked if I should like to read the textbook. I had never heard of it before. As I read I was very much impressed, especially with the first paragraph of the chapter entitled "Prayer," and decided to test the statements I had been reading.
