I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, having reared my family in its teachings. My understanding of this Science has been the most precious thing I have ever possessed, and I have never ceased to thank God for it.
From childhood I had suffered from annual attacks of quinsy, which usually lasted from two to three weeks and were very painful. Many remedies were tried by various doctors, but the attacks still recurred until Christian Science was applied. I had help once or twice from a practitioner, and it has now been over twenty years since I experienced this difficulty.
Another chronic ailment, which dated from childhood, and which was healed by Christian Science, was that of an ulcerated mouth. Various treatments had been tried to no avail. This trouble gradually faded from my experience as I became more loving and tried earnestly to live according to Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, and for many years I have been completely free from it. Chronic biliousness was also healed in the same gentle way, as I tried to replace sharpness of tongue and bitterness of thought with gentleness, meekness, and love.
