Through this testimony I wish to express my gratitude for the great blessings I have received since I learned of Christian Science five years ago. It was my wife who first began the study, and seeing the happy results she had, I was in turn drawn to this Science.
From the beginning the influence of Truth made a great change in the atmosphere of our home. Serenity and trust in divine Love replaced fear, doubt, and anxiety. We have had some very beautiful demonstrations for my wife, our son, and myself, not only with respect to health, but also concerning employment and protection in the troublous times we are going through.
I have been completely healed of constipation, which I had had for twenty years, and which was aggravated by liver trouble. All sorts of material remedies and drugs had been tried, but without success. One day I came across this sentence in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 12): "The drug does nothing, because it has no intelligence." Some days later while studying the Lesson-Sermon I read (ibid., p. 151): "The blood, heart, lungs, brain, etc., have nothing to do with Life, God. Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind." At once I became conscious that my fear had been vanquished and that Truth had freed me from this error. That was some three years ago, and the healing has been permanent.
