In humble gratitude I wish to give this...

From the February 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In humble gratitude I wish to give this testimony of my healing in Christian Science.

About four years ago I became ill with what seemed to me to be a serious nervous condition. I could do absolutely nothing, was deeply depressed, cried constantly, had no strength, and could eat almost nothing. In addition to all this, I had insomnia in its most severe form. I did not want to live, for life to me then was a great burden. The days seemed endless, and the nights were worse. I was positive I should never be well again.

Since I came from a medical family, everything humanly possible was done for me along the lines of materia medica. I was in two sanitariums for various nerve treatments, and later was a patient in the private home of two eminent physicians. Altogether I had five of the best doctors in this section of the country, who were most kind, and did all they could to help me. Although I had various treatments and took large amounts of medicine, I "was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" (Mark 5:26).
