CLAIM IT

From the April 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As surely and as forcefully as the coming of the dawn, is the signification of Jesus' proclamation that we are heirs of the kingdom of God permeating human thought. Because of our acceptance of the belief that we are mortal beings, these heavenly riches have been denied us, and we have suffered the darkness and penury of mortal mind.

It is well known that bank vaults and many courts hold vast fortunes awaiting missing heirs. There are business organizations in almost every country which devote time and effort to search for these heirs and, having found them, to establish their identity, that they may be entitled to receive the fortune. In many cases these people are ignorant of their rights and know nothing of their inheritance; but as they become aware of their birthright they vigorously use every possible means to claim it.

Of what good would a fortune be to a man if he did not claim it and pursue this claim to the point of possession? Just saying that he knew himself to be the legal heir, without establishing his claims, would be of little avail.
