Testimonies of Healing

From the April 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with deep gratitude and love that I give this testimony of healing.

Years ago a lump appeared on my breast. A physician advised an operation to remove it, but I did not follow his recommendation, although I was not interested in Christian Science at the time. Later on I began to read and then to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. While I was having help from a Christian Science practitioner on another problem, the lump disappeared. I am very grateful for this healing.

One day, while I was knitting, something fell to the floor, and as I stooped to pick it up one of the knitting needles pierced my breast. I did not pay much attention to it at the time, but in a couple of days I felt a great soreness, and discovered an ugly sore and swelling where the lump had been. I started to work, as we are taught in Christian Science, but the condition became worse. I then called on a Christian Science practitioner. She said: "I will help you, but you must watch your own thinking. Nothing can grow unless there is soil to cultivate it."
