In I Peter 2:9 we read, "Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." I was indeed dwelling in darkness when, at a time of great need and in answer to prayer, Christian Science was presented to me. Daily I thank God for His "unspeakable gift."
Many are the blessings which have come to me since I became a student of this wonderful truth which involves consecrated study of the Bible and the writings of our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," does indeed unlock the treasures to be found in the Bible. I am grateful not only for the physical and moral benefits which have been brought into my life through Science, but more so for the regeneration and spiritual growth with which I am being blessed.
Before I heard of Christian Science I was always ailing, and constantly being treated by physicians and surgeons. One remedy after another was tried, but there was no improvement. At this point a friend, a Scientist, asked me to read Science and Health. I began reluctantly, but as I read on I became entirely absorbed in this wonderful book, and realized that I had at last found that for which I had long been seeking. Almost immediately I experienced, through the help of a practitioner, an instantaneous healing of influenza. To me it seemed a miracle, for my understanding of Christian Science was very limited.
