After many years of countless blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science, I suddenly realized that while I had often verbally expressed my gratitude, I had as yet to write it, and I knew it was time that I should.
My first healing came over eighteen years ago through reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I had no thought of a healing for myself, but was studying that I might help my mother gain an understanding because she was in great need of help. I thought that I cared nothing for Christian Science, for I was a member of and an ardent worker in an orthodox church, but I was willing to do anything I could to help my mother.
When I realized that just from reading, and with no expectancy of healing for myself, I was free from a functional disease for which I had, like the woman in the Bible (Mark 5:26), "spent all that [I] had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse," I knew I had found the pearl of great price and I would never let it go. The joy and peace of mind that have followed are wonderful.
