Christian Science has given me a concept of God that means something to me every day and under all circumstances, and this I count to be the greatest blessing I have received since taking up the study of this Science.
Our family has been blessed with many physical healings, each one a proof that God's spiritual law is ever present and ever available to man. I have been healed of colds which for many years were both frequent and severe. Now, if this error appears, it is quickly banished by the realization of the truth. On the last occasion I had a cold I was instantly healed while reading an article in a Christian Science Sentinel, in which the following quotation from the Bible (John 3:27) appeared: "A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven." I saw very clearly that anything coming from such a source must be good. I have also been healed of severe headaches, chilblains, and several other minor discords, and I am grateful to say that for many years I have enjoyed almost perfect health.
Our two children have had many healings, some of them of apparently serious complaints. A small growth disappeared from our daughter's foot overnight, and a severe cold that was making her feel miserable was instantly healed when I realized that where that error claimed to be, in reality only God's manifestation was. Our son was healed of diphtheria, with help from a Christian Science practitioner. He was also healed of some form of poisoning on his face, close to one eye. It appeared to be rather alarming, but when I could see clearly that matter is powerless to produce or develop anything, and that man is spiritual, governed by spiritual law, the trouble quickly disappeared.
