I turned to Christian Science when all...

From the May 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I turned to Christian Science when all material aid had failed me. Through this wonderful, practical religion, I was healed of nervousness, sick headaches, sore throat, colds, and astigmatism. These demonstrations were not made immediately, but came gradually through my overcoming false beliefs, such as fear, resentment, revenge, criticism, and irritation. During this time my children were attending the Christian Science Sunday School and were healed of measles, scarlet fever, smallpox, and mumps. It is cause for gratitude that my granddaughter now attends a Christian Science Sunday School. One day when we were together, she asked me about a wart which had appeared on my finger some months before. I was led to answer, "God never made imperfections, and we will accept only God's law." After I made this remark, the wart disappeared. I am very grateful for an instantaneous healing which I experienced a few years ago with the help of a practitioner, when I was in great pain.

Some time ago I had to change the type of work I was doing. Turning to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I pondered this statement on page 206, "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes,—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply." This solved the problem, and I found a suitable occupation and a harmonious home.

I am grateful to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy; also for class instruction and for the privilege of our yearly association meetings.—
