All I have I owe to Christian Science, and words alone can never express my gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the many blessings I have experienced.
Some twenty years ago, when a small boy, on the advice of a specialist I underwent an operation for what was believed to be a tumor on the brain. As a result of this operation, I was given three days to live. I was brought home from the nursing home to die. A neighbor on hearing this asked my mother if she would care to try Christian Science, and this she agreed to do. She attended a Science service in a local church that evening, and Christian Science treatment was lovingly given to me by a practitioner. A copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was borrowed, and whilst reading it that evening my mother was permanently healed of the smoking habit and of the need to use glasses.
I lay in bed completely paralyzed, blind, and dumb and was unable to retain any food. Although Christian Science treatment was faithfully given, and the practitioner came daily, this condition persisted for two months.
