"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,...

From the January 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy" (Ps. 107:2). Through my earnest study of Christian Science, God hath redeemed me "from the hand of the enemy." My gratitude is unbounded for the healing power of this truth. It came to me at a time when doctors had promised only temporary relief for a curvature of the spine of twelve years' standing.

A Christian Scientist living in our home at this time gave great encouragement by stating, "If you will only ask for help, I know you will be healed." My fear of becoming a cripple for life was overwhelming, so a practitioner was called, and work lovingly done; but because of the many material beliefs I needed to exchange for right ideas, the healing was slow. I would not part with one moment of that time of purging, however, because of the many beautiful lessons learned.

During this period of earnest study I was healed of cuts, colds, burns, influenza, constipation, fatigue, a catarrhal condition of head and throat, impatience, impulsiveness, which often brought difficulties instead of harmony, and many other false traits of character.
