After my mother's healing of kidney trouble, when I was a young girl, I was sent to the Christian Science Sunday School. My first healing in Christian Science was that of bilious attacks, from which I suffered once or twice each year. My father had suffered from these attacks all his life, and so I was told not to be surprised whenever I experienced them. Needless to say, after the first Christian Science treatment I never again had one of these attacks.
In studying my Sunday School lesson one day, which included learning "A Rule for Motives and Acts" from the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy (Art. VIII, Sect. 1), I was almost instantaneously healed of severe pain. This made a great impression on me, for it was my first proof through my own efforts of the power of Christian Science to heal.
A number of years ago I was healed of a severe sunburn simply by reading the textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I felt almost too weak to sit up to read, and the temptation came to lie down and sleep; however, I did not yield to this suggestion, but took my textbook and read aloud. At the end of the first hour I was reading with such conviction that I knew I was on the way to complete freedom from this distressing experience. At the end of the second hour I found myself completely and permanently healed of all trace of the burn.
