Poems

Sacrament

From the January 1951 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I eat the bread of Truth;
so fed and strengthened. I can grasp the cup
of earth's experience with hold more sure.
Now in ascending thought I taste the wine
of heavenly inspiration, where before
was gall of need unmet, of void unfilled;
and as the light of ever-present Love
illumines consciousness, desire is stilled.
Here in this sacred unity with Mind
I true communion find.
