"Freely ye have received, freely give," we read in the Bible (Matt. 10:8). For the past forty-eight years I have been receiving freely of God's love, abundance, and protection through the application and demonstration of Christian Science.
My first healing was that of a hip disorder. My aunt, a student of Christian Science, seeing the difficulty I was having in walking, asked me to go with her to call on a friend, who was a practitioner. I did so reluctantly. During the visit Christian Science was not mentioned, and the conversation was general, but when I arose to go I found myself free. Although at first unwilling to admit the benefit I had experienced, shortly afterward I took up the study of Christian Science. Several years later the hip condition returned. After seven weeks of suffering I was healed when a sense of resentment that I had been holding was removed. This time I was glad to attribute the healing to Christian Science.
I should like to relate a healing for which I have been most grateful. I was expecting a child, when a condition arose indicating a premature birth. A similar condition previously had resulted in the loss of the child, and because of this, my fear was great. I asked help of a practitioner and then engaged a doctor for the delivery. The doctor said that the birth might not take place for a day or two. After two weeks had passed and nothing had occurred, I asked him if it was possible that the condition had righted itself. He replied: "Absolutely not. There is nothing known to medical science that can prevent the premature birth."
