Students of Christian Science often tell of demonstrations or proofs of their understanding of Truth through healings of disease and other discordant conditions, such as lack, inharmony, intemperance, or difficult business problems. "Demonstrate," according to a dictionary, is "to prove by reasoning, as by deduction; to establish as true;" and "demonstration" is an "act, process, or means of demonstrating; proof."
Students readily express their gratitude for having learned how "to establish as true" the harmony of being, which is their right and privilege, even as it is the right and privilege of everyone who is willing to be obedient to the laws of God, divine Love. The "act, process, or means of demonstrating" in every case takes place through one's right employment of the Science of Christianity, through one's right employment of the laws of God, as demonstrated for the benefit of all mankind by Christ Jesus, the Way-shower.
There is absolutely no question that Christian Science is a demonstrable religion. Countless verified cases of healing through the loving ministrations of Truth prove the practicality of this Science. In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 112), "Christian Science is demonstrable." On the same page she adds: "From the infinite One in Christian Science comes one Principle and its infinite idea, and with this infinitude come spiritual rules, laws, and their demonstration, which, like the great Giver, are 'the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever;' for thus are the divine Principle of healing and the Christ-idea characterized in the epistle to the Hebrews."
